FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ASSAULT ON DARK ATHENA
Here is a general collection of basic information on the second Riddick game, Assault on Dark Athena.

The Game

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.

April 7th, 2009 in the US and April 24th internationally.

Click one of the following links to pre-order the game
Xbox360 - Windows PC - PS3

What platforms was the game released on?
Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC.

What is it?
This is the second game in the Riddick franchise, but it happens to include the first game along with it.
  • Dark Athena features all of the original game, Escape from Butcher Bay, but improved using higher quality content and with some game changes based on player feedback.
  • Dark Athena also features an entirely new chapter. Dark Athena is a complete game on it's own.
  • Dark Athena also includes multiplayer: 2-8 players, and six modes including the "Pitch Black" mode.
  • It doesn't force you to replay Butcher Bay before getting to the new Dark Athena game
Wait... it includes all of EFBB?
Yes.

What is the storyline of the new chapter?
Well, one old description said the following:
"The game introduces the ominous Merc-ship Dark Athena, which sits silent like a marauding spider, awaiting helpless prey in the dark reaches of the galaxy. Players will combat Captain Revas and her slaves-turned-controllable combat drones..."
And some newer stuff is as follows:
the player takes the role of Riddick, as played by Vin Diesel, using stealth and action to overcome the merciless crew of the predatory Merc-ship Dark Athena which awaits its prey in the dark reaches of space. Cheating death through a series of spectacular battles and events, Riddick will fight for his life amid a storm of malevolence and horror.
Don't look at me like that, man, I didn't write that paragraph...

Who does the voice acting?
Vin Diesel, Cole Hauser, Lance MF'ing Henriksen, Michelle Forbes, Gideon Emery, Heidi Schooler, Eijiro Ozaki, and David Andriole.

The Biz
Who did the development?
The bulk of the development was by Starbreeze Studios, the same guys that developed Escape from Butcher Bay. Tigon Games also participated in an as-yet unknown manner.

Who is doing the publishing?
Atari/Infogrames.

The future
Will there be any more Riddick games?
This is unknown, but there are signs that this might be very much a possibility. The announcement that Atari would be publishing Dark Athena also mentioned that they had obtained the rights to produce future Riddick games. I'm sure it is heavily dependant on Dark Athena's sales.
